LSUS and BRF to host the first Global Power Symposium

Louisiana State University Shreveport and BRF will host the first, biannual Global Power Symposium on March 23 from 1-5 p.m. followed by a hosted networking reception.

The keynote speaker for the Global Power Symposium is Lt Gen Mark Weatherington, Deputy Commander Air Force Global Strike Command.

Other presentations on the agenda for Thursday are: “Long-range Strike Operations,” Col Charles Drouillard (Joint Global Operations Center Deputy Commander), “Global Competition with China and Russia,” Lt Gen (Ret) Robert Elder, and “The Rise of Chinese Influence,” MSgt Eric Braun, 307 BW Ops Group.

Thursday’s Global Power Symposium presentations will be followed by a reception with members of the community, visiting industry, and senior members from BAFB.

The purpose of the symposium is to examine the unique and ever-expanding roles of long-range strike to address the challenges the United States faces in today’s highly competitive international environment. A significant focus will be on the present operational capabilities provided by AFGSC, located at nearby BAFB, and the command’s needs in the future.
