Carter Credit union to host reception for, donate to build of first Ronald McDonald House in NWLA

Carter Credit Union to Host Reception about the Ronald McDonald House Shreveport-Bossier, the first for Northwest Louisiana, March 2 at East Ridge Country Club in Shreveport.

This invitation-only event will allow guests to hear about plans to build NWLA’s first Ronald McDonald House.

An effort, chaired by local business owner Roy Griggs, is underway to raise $10 million to open the three-story, 22 bedroom, 26,000 square foot facility in early 2025.

To that end, at Thursday’s event, Carter Credit Union — a locally-owned financial institution — will donate $100,000 as the Technology Sponsor of the Ronald McDonald House Shreveport-Bossier.

In addition, the Ronald McDonald House is accepting gifts of all sizes. Information can be found at RMHShreveport-Bossier.org.

Ronald McDonald House, which will provide a free, home away from home for families of critically ill hospitalized children. The Ronald McDonald House will serve all hospitals in the community, offering a place where families can be together, have all the comforts of home, and the hospitality of compassionate staff and volunteers.

There are more than 180 Ronald McDonald Houses in the United States, and more than 380 globally.
