Gisele Proby-Bryant appointed to The Arc of Louisiana State Board

Kristen Powers, executive director of The Arc Caddo Bossier, has announced the appointment of Gisele Proby-Bryant, immediate past president of The Arc Caddo-Bossier, to The Arc of Louisiana Board of Directors.  

As a new member of The Arc’s State Board, Gisele will continue to advocate for people with intellectual and related developmental disabilities, and their families, so that they can live to their fullest potential.  The Arc of Louisiana is a grassroots organization with over 6,000 members affiliated through 21 local chapters across the state.  A board of directors and a delegate body of representatives from each chapter guides the work of The Arc at the state level.

With Gisele’s more than 40 years of extensive experience in the advocacy arena, she joins The Arc of Louisiana team and continues to “Building Unlimited Opportunities for People with Disabilities”.  She is recognized for her expertise in special education law and advocating for people with disabilities. Gisele is a licensed Speech Pathologist in the state of Louisiana, and holds a master’s degree, plus 30 graduate hours, in educational leadership and administration. She retired, after 35 years of service, from Bossier Parish Schools as Director of Special Education and Federal Programs. 

Her strong mentorship skills have propelled the next generation of educational leaders to influential positions, leaving an enduring legacy of excellence. Truly, Gisele Proby-Bryant is the epitome of a “servant-leader”, who has a commitment to meet every family where they are, and provide them with essential resources needed to access their communities.
