Signing Ceremony scheduled for new Manufacturing Apprenticeship program

There will be a signing ceremony for the members of a new Northwest Louisiana chapter of the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (NWLA FAME).

This apprenticeship program will develop a pipeline of skilled technicians to support the regional manufacturing sector.

The NWLA FAME chapter members include Benteler Steel/Tube, Frymaster, Maxim Watermakers, Music Mountain Water, Prolec GE, Ternium USA, Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) and the North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP).

The signing ceremony to officially launch the chapter will be Monday, May 23, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Bossier Parish Community College, Building A, Room 230, 6220 E. Texas St, Bossier City. Representatives of all members will be present.

For those interested in applying for the NWLA FAME apprenticeship program, there will be an Open House June 1, 2022, with two sessions available: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 4-6 p.m. Both sessions will take place in Building L on the BPCC campus, 6220 E. Texas Street, Bossier City.

FAME is a program of The Manufacturing Institute, the workforce development and education arm of the National Association of Manufacturers.
