LABI’s Waguespack on SCOTUS blocking vaccine mandate for private sector

BATON ROUGE – Today, LABI President and CEO Stephen Waguespack released the following statement on the United States Supreme Court blocking the Biden Administration’s vaccine mandate in a 6-3 decision for private businesses with more than 100 employees.

“This is great news for our members and the entire business community,” said Waguespack. “The unconstitutional vaccine-or-test rules this administration put forward through OSHA would have put a massive burden on companies when many on Main Street are still recovering from the pandemic-induced economic shutdown and struggling to find workers. While we encourage everyone to consult with their doctor about getting vaccinated, there’s no doubt that a one-size fits-all approach is the wrong one. Employers across the country can rest easier tonight thanks to the Supreme Court’s decision.”
