Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport physicians honored by Northwest Louisiana Pediatric Society

The Northwest Louisiana Pediatric Society honored several Ochsner LSU physicians on December 22 with awards commemorating the outstanding commitment providers have in caring for the children in the Northwest Louisiana community.

Awards were presented by current President of the Northwest Louisiana Pediatric Society, Dr. Megan Gardner, who along with a committee, selected the winners.

Dr. Majed Jeroudi was presented with the Joseph Bocchini, Jr. Award for his displays of Humanism in Pediatrics.  Dr. Jeroudi, a pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist, has spent his life caring for the special needs of children of North Louisiana who have the uncommon diagnosis of cancer or pediatric blood disease.

Dr. Ryan Jones, pediatric cardiologist, received the Dr. William H. Haynie, Sr. award, which commemorates the recipient for the years of service and commitment to children of the Northwest Louisiana region.  Surrounded by family, co-workers, and several pediatric residents, Dr. Jones was able to take a moment to reflect on the award and appreciate the kind words delivered in the presentation by Dr. Gardner, Dr. Joe Bocchini and Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Pediatric Chair Dr. Maroun Mhanna.

“Dr. Jones’ steadfast work ethic and sense of caring go beyond what is often expected,” stated Chris Mangin, CEO of Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport – St. Mary Medical Center.
