Greater Shreveport Chamber names Crystal Morant as NWLA PTAC Procurement Specialist

The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Crystal Morant has been hired as the second business counselor at the Northwest Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (NWLA PTAC), located inside Chamber Plaza.

Morant, a Southern University graduate, joins the NWLA PTAC most recently from Caddo Parish Public Schools following a distinguished career in retail and marketing. Along with NWLA PTAC Director Dr. Gayle Flowers and Contracting Assistance Specialist Jennifer Whittington, Morant brings the NWLA PTAC counseling staff to full strength.

“We’re delighted to welcome Crystal to the Chamber team,” stated Dr. Timothy Magner, President of the Chamber. “She brings a wealth of business experience and a can-do attitude to her work. We are confident that our local businesses will benefit from her experience and insights.”

Covering the ten-parish region across Northwest Louisiana, the NWLA PTAC is funded through a Cooperative Agreement between the Greater Shreveport Chamber and the Defense Logistics Agency. The primary mission of the PTAC is to positively impact and grow the local economy by increasing the number of federal, state, and local government contract dollars being awarded to businesses located in our region, thereby creating and retaining jobs. The NWLA PTAC offers no-cost, confidential counseling and education to prepare and certify businesses to be able to bid for government contracts for their products and services. The NWLA PTAC helps create opportunities for local businesses, especially underserved sectors such as minority, woman-owned, and veteran owned entities.
