LSU Health Shreveport post-doctoral fellow receives Career Development Award from American Heart Association

Celeste Y.C. Wu, PhD, post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Neurology at LSU Health Shreveport, was awarded the American Heart Association Career Development Award. Dr. Wu received $231,000 in funding and will be the principal investigator (PI) exploring the role of enzyme catalysts in age-induced vascular dementia.

The purpose of the Career Development Award is to support highly promising academic professionals to explore the innovative questions or pilot studies, resulting in the training and data necessary for success as a research scientist.

Dr. Wu earned a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Taipei Medical University in Taiwan, followed by both her master’s degree and post-professional doctorate in Pharmacology from Tzu Chi University in Hualien City, Taiwan. In 2016, she joined Dr. Kevin Lin’s laboratory at LSU Health Shreveport as a post-doctoral fellow with a focus on cardiovascular pharmacology.
