CHRISTUS Physician Group launches #OnMyHeart campaign to highlight Heart Month

To shine a light on the fight against heart disease,  CHRISTUS Physician Group has launched the #OnMyHeart campaign, lending a voice to  caregivers across CHRISTUS Health who are on the frontlines of cardiac care every day.

“Essentially, #OnMyHeart is a video series that gives our clinicians a chance to share heart care  stories, personal or professional, in a way that resonates with our communities,” said Lisa Britt,  Vice President of Physician Practice Operations, CHRISTUS Physician Group. “Each speaker is sharing why heart health is important to them while highlighting the significance of heart care,  prevention and overall health.”

Each video will run approximately 1-2 minutes at most and be built around the concept of what’s  “on the speaker’s heart” to share.

“Every video begins the same way, because we are all in this fight together: ‘It’s on my heart to  share with you…’” said Britt. “Then, they have a chance to speak personally, and to tell their  story to their community – to explain to people why heart health is extremely important to them  and to their friends, family and neighbors.”

“We have all heard the facts and figures, and we all understand that heart disease is a threat in all  our lives,” said John Evans, M.D., Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon, CHRISTUS Physician Group. “Our goal is to break through these standard awareness messages and impact people to  help improve their lives.”

“We want these personal messages to connect with viewers, to encourage heart health and to  help prevent heart issues such as heart attacks,” said Cara Permenter, M.D., Family Medicine,  CHRISTUS Primary Care Partners. “We hope that by sharing why this is important to us, we can  help others understand why it is so important to them, too.”
