Ochsner LSU Health – St. Mary welcomes news OB/GYN staff

SHREVEPORT, La. – Ochsner LSU Health – St. Mary Medical Center would like to welcome OB/GYN specialists Dr. Beth Geneux, Dr. John Haynes, Dr. Kristi Michael, Dr. Darrell Sandifer, Dr. Stephanie Sockrider, Dr. Kristy Waltman and Nurse Practitioners LaToya Gipson, Holly Johnson and Aimee Smiley.

Dr. Beth Geneux is a board-certified OB/GYN who attended medical school at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana and completed her residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has practiced in Shreveport, Louisiana for the past eight years and has interests in minimally invasive surgery- Da Vinci Robotic surgery and Laparoscopy, routine and high-risk obstetrics, twin pregnancies, routine gynecological care and menopausal medicine.

Dr. John Haynes is a board-certified OB/GYN who has practiced in Shreveport, Louisiana since 1998. He attended medical school and completed his residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Haynes has always focused on an individualized approach to patient care with the core tenets of maintaining each patient’s dignity and treating them and their families with respect.

Dr. Kristi Michael is a board-certified OB/GYN who has been practicing since 2002. She attended medical school at the University of Texas at Houston in Houston, Texas and completed her residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Darrell Sandifer is a board-certified OB/GYN and a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. He completed medical school and his residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Sandifer’s areas of interest include obstetrics, gynecology and minimally invasive robotic surgery.

Dr. Stephanie Sockrider is a board-certified OB/GYN with interests in minimally invasive surgery, high risk pregnancies and female sexual health. She attended medical school and completed her residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dr. Kristy Waltman is a board-certified OB/GYN and a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. She attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana where she also completed her residency. Dr. Waltman has over 22 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology.

LaToya Gipson is a nurse practitioner with interests in adolescent health, contraceptive management, well women exams, postpartum depression, high and low risk obstetrics, menopause management and STI screening, education and counseling.

Holly Johnson is nurse practitioner with interests in women’s health included adolescent, pregnancy and menopause. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University.

Aimee Smiley is a nurse practitioner with interests in adolescent care, well-women yearly exams, obstetrics, menopause, contraceptive management and post-op care.

The OB/GYN Specialists will begin seeing patients November 3 at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport-St. Mary Medical Center. To schedule an appointment, patients can contact 318-626-2800.

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport renovated and revitalized the former CHRISTUS Schumpert facility to become our St. Mary Medical Center. In 2019, we opened our first services within the center: our neurosurgery and neurology clinics. We also opened additional clinics in the campus’s medical office building and other standalone buildings. Today, St. Mary Medical Center is a 122-bed hospital that includes several targeted care centers including our: Comprehensive Diagnostic and Imaging Center, Women’s and Children’s Center, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center and Child Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic.
