The Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP) has announced North Louisiana’s “Most Innovative Small Business” winner, Whisk Dessert Bar, chosen by the public as a part of the EAP Innovative Hero Contest.

The EAP Innovation Hero contest began on June 1st and ran through August 1st, where the public nominated and voted for small businesses in all twenty-one parishes in North Louisiana based on their innovative practices during the Covid-19 shutdown.

Whisk Dessert Bar, a local bakery specializing in French pastries, pivoted from in-store retail to a fully online, national shipping service with customized “Pinpals” boxes. Each Pinpal box had a personalized quote on the inside of the box with three separately wrapped homemade desserts.

“Many small businesses needed and will need to continue to make extreme changes in order to survive the COVID-19 landscape, and post COVID-19 landscape,” Said EAP Executive Director Dave Smith. “Louisiana was hit hard, forcing many businesses to close their doors, however, there were many small businesses that came up with innovative ways to continue to serve customers and expand their offerings. Staying open meant being creative, and the team at EAP thinks it’s important to support and celebrate them.”
