Heard, McElroy & Vestal, LLC is proud to announce the promotions of Elizabeth G. Killough, CPA and Malia M. Wollerson, CPA to director, effective July 1, 2020.
Elizabeth G. Killough, CPA (Liz) began her career at Heard, McElroy & Vestal in 2006. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. Liz has a strong background in tax compliance for closely held businesses and high wealth individuals, as well as estate tax matters through which she has experience as an expert witness at trial. Prior to working for HMV, Elizabeth served as an air traffic controller for the United States Air Force.
Liz is active in both professional and community organizations, currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA), the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS), and the Tax and Estate Planning Council of Shreveport. She participates as a volunteer for Junior Achievement, is a past Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 recipient as well as a graduate of the Louisiana Association of Not-for-Profit Organizations (LANO) Community Leaders Program.
Malia began working at Heard, McElroy & Vestal in 2009. She is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, as well as a Master of Accountancy. Malia focuses on oil and gas taxation, high wealth individuals, and private foundation compliance and consulting.
Malia maintains her membership with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Society Of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants. Active in the Shreveport-Bossier community, she has graduated from the Leadership Shreveport program through the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and is a former chairman of the advisory board for Leadership Shreveport, was named to the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce’s 40 Under 40 and was awarded with the Very Important Volunteer Award in 2016. Malia serves in the children’s ministry at First Baptist Bossier, the PTO of Providence Classical Academy and on the finance committee and board of directors for the Providence House.
