The Shreveport-Bossier New Car Dealers Association issued a statement to the public Wednesday, lining out their response to the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent proclamations from the government.
“As we practice social distancing and continue to follow government guidelines, we know how important it is that those on the front lines and those who are providing critical services to the public are able to get to work,” the statement read. “Complimentary concierge vehicle pickup and drop-off for customers with service appointments is one of the services in place to help provide peace of mind”
The dealers listed several steps they are taking in an effort to keep employees and customers safe:
- Following government protocols and recommendations.
- Cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces multiple times daily.
- Asking employees and guests to stay home if symptomatic.
- Wash hands frequently and thoroughly for 20 seconds.
- Cough or sneeze into tissue or flexed elbow.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands, and avoid shaking hands.
“Our member dealerships are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays,” the statement read. “Each dealership encourages you to use our websites for service appointments and pick-up and delivery concierge services.”
The association recommends customers use alternate means to interact with dealerships.
“For new and pre-owned sales you may call the dealership or visit our websites for shopping and information on special financing, prices, discounts and rebates. Online credit approval, curbside and home delivery is available,” the statement read.
“Our service departments are working full speed so that repairs on your vehicles can be made efficiently. Our sales department is working within the government’s guidelines to fulfill your vehicle needs. Our thoughts and best wishes are with each and everyone of you and your families.”
