Coldwell Banker Gosslee celebrates 60 years, new branding

Coldwell Banker Gosslee, the top real estate company in the region for the last 27 years, is celebrating its 60th anniversary of serving Northwest Louisiana with a launch, next Tuesday, March 10th of its new look and marketing materials. The announcement comes as the Coldwell Banker brand debuts its TV commercial campaign during the NCAA Tournament.

Shreveport, Bossier, Benton and Haughton will immediately see new yard signs featuring the company’s new look. It features a blue interlocking CB on a white background with a modernized font, accented with a “North Star.” The icon depicts how the Coldwell Banker brand has led the real estate industry since its founding in 1906 along with how its franchisees and agents have helped guide people home for generations.

“We have been the top real estate company in the Shreveport/Bossier region since 1997,” said Brad Gosslee, chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Gosslee. “As we celebrate our 60th year, the timing aligned to relaunch our look along with the entire Coldwell Banker brand. The new look is cleaner and more responsive to today’s digital advertising world. Our agents are excited about it and we have teams out today replacing our old signs in the approximately 550 homes we are currently representing around the region.”

The company was founded by J. Wesley Dowling in 1960 in the garage of his Shreveport home. It spilt its commercial and residential real estate operations in 1983 as the latter became the first Coldwell Banker franchisee in Louisiana, as well as one of the first in the nation. It kept its Coldwell Banker J. Wesley Dowling & Associates name until 2013, when eventual sole owners Jimmy Gosslee, and his son Brad, renamed it Coldwell Banker Gosslee. Jimmy Gosslee, now Chairman Emeritus, has been with the company for 44 years.

The company has been a member of the prestigious Coldwell Banker Chairman’s Circle, which indicates the most productive franchisees in the world, since 1991. Only 11 other firms worldwide have been on the list for as many years. With offices in Shreveport and Bossier, Coldwell Banker Gosslee records more transactions annually than all but one other two-office Coldwell Banker company in the world. REAL Trends, a leading real estate trade publication, ranks Coldwell Banker Gosslee in the top 50 firms nationally for its size, and among the best of any size firm in the nation. The company generated 1,834 transaction sides and $408 million in 2019 sales volume.

“We take a lot of pride in our longevity and it’s amazing to think how many area residents our agents have helped over the years,” Brad Gosslee said. “We expect we will reach a major milestone this year with our 60,000th transaction since our founding. We combine our rich local tradition with Coldwell Banker’s 120-year history as one of the world’s most iconic brands. It is truly an honor to be a leader in this great brand.”

Gosslee shared that the new logo and look will become increasingly visible as the spring progresses.

“Spring is traditionally when we get new listings and we’ve got plenty of new signs for them,” Gosslee said. “Our local real estate market needs more homes to come on the market as we are mimicking national trends. While the shortage here is not as drastic as in other parts of the country, low mortgage rates are bringing many first-time buyers into the market and homes priced at the lower end are being sold relatively quickly. The ‘move up” buyer is also benefitting from lower mortgage rates and homes priced between $200,000-$400,000 were really strong last year.”
