The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau will host the 14th Annual Red River Mardi Gras Bash during the Krewe of Centaur Parade XXIX in downtown Shreveport at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020.
The party, an American Bus Association Top 100 Event, has been designed for group tours visiting for Mardi Gras. The 2020 Red River Mardi Gras Bash will have an estimated economic impact of more than $175,000 and will draw over 450 attendees.
“Mardi Gras attracts motorcoach groups to our community from around the country,” said Erica Telsee, group sales manager at the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. “The Red River Mardi Gras Bash takes all of the challenges out of attending a Mardi Gras parade with a large group.”
Red River Mardi Gras Bash attendees will enjoy an exclusive party and front-row experience to the Krewe of Centaur Parade – one of the largest Mardi Gras parades in Louisiana. The climate-controlled party tent will be located along the riverfront, and tickets to the bash include live entertainment, savory Cajun and Creole food, king cake, a commemorative Mardi Gras bead and t-shirt, and several hands-on experiences.
Before the parade, Red River Mardi Gras Bash guests will have the opportunity to meet krewe royalty and see the floats up close. Once the Krewe of Centaur Parade begins, the Red River Mardi Gras Bash area is showered in beads, trinkets and toys thrown by krewe members aboard dozens of huge, brightly colored floats. Following the parade, groups often enjoy nearby nightlife and casino gaming located just blocks from the Mardi Gras Bash tent.
