The Allergy/Immunology Fellowship Program at LSU Health Shreveport recently participated in the Fellows-in-Training Bowl Competition at the annual meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology in Houston, Texas, Nov. 7-11.
Out of 80 total programs who attended, 34 participated in the Fellows-in-Training Bowl Competition. Two Fellows, Dr. Kim Jackson and Dr. Rashmi D’Mello, who reached the final round and placed second overall, represented the LSUHS Allergy/Immunology Fellowship Program.
This is the third time the LSUHS A/I program was among the top three nationally in the competition.
During the scientific program, A/I Fellows Dr. Kim Jackson, Dr. Rashmi D’Mello and Dr. Tom Fowler had three poster presentations, and Dr. Sami Bahna, Chief of the Allergy/Immunology Section, chaired a session titled, “Clinical Conundrum: Recurrent Infections with Normal Immunoglobulins.”
In the national American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology In-Training-Examination earlier this year, LSU Health Shreveport’s four Allergy/Immunology Fellows ranked in the 89th to 98th percentile. The program’s Fellows attained the 100th percentile on three previous occasions.
