ReForm Shreveport will host Building a Stronger Shreveport part of Strong Towns’ Strong America Book tour at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Artspace, 708 Texas St., Shreveport.

The event will feature a keynote presentation by author Charles Marohn, the founder and president of Strong Towns. Highlights from some of the most powerful stories in Mr. Marohn’s recently published book Strong Towns, A Bottom-Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity will be featured during the keynote speech.

This innovative and hands-on presentation will showcase why so many towns in North America are struggling financially despite decades of growth.  In addition to stories featured in the book, there will be a focused discussion about how Strong Towns’ concepts have been applied to Shreveport’s core community and exploration on what next steps we can take to build on that success. There will also be a book signing with the author following the discussion.

This event is a follow up to Mr. Marohn’s first visit to Shreveport in 2016 for ReForm Shreveport’s inaugural keynote event. Since that time, ReForm Shreveport has been working to implement and advocate for Strong Towns principles through organizing local improvement projects and cleanups, ‘proof of concept’ demonstrations, setting a standard for city outreach with citizens, and creation of interactive events with local citizens.

ReForm Shreveport is an organization focused on creating a more resilient Shreveport by growing a culture of engagement and trust between citizens, businesses, and government. For more on ReForm Shreveport visit: reformshreveport.com
