Leslie Peck has been named SporTran’s director of marketing and communications.
A Shreveport native, Peck has over 20 years’ experience in the Shreveport-Bossier advertising industry, with the majority of her career spent in the local gaming market. She was Advertising and PR Manager at Eldorado Resort Casino for 11 years and most recently served for 3 years as Advertising and PR Manager for Margaritaville Resort Casino Bossier. At both casinos, she brought all advertising, marketing and public relations needs in-house, creating internal advertising support for the companies and reducing expenses. In her new role, she will do the same for SporTran.
Peck will serve as the organization’s public information officer and spokesperson with responsibility for managing media and community relations. In addition, she will oversee the planning and implementation of effective marketing programs to increase the use of transit, enhance the image and reputation of SporTran, and provide greater understanding of transit’s vital role in the community.
The new Marketing and Communications department will handle speeches and public appearances, the web site and social media, press releases and media events, creative and graphic branding for the organization, and internal communications. All transit advertising sales, art design, production, and scheduling will be coordinated internally as well.
