As a part of our Innovation North LA initiative, we want North Louisiana to be a leader in the emerging field of cyber security. That’s why the Bossier Chamber will be hosting the Education & Innovation Luncheon: Cultivating Generation Cyber on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CenturyLink Center.
Attendees will hear from G.B. Cazes, founder of The Emory Group. Cazes has a passion for entrepreneurship, human capital development, and economic development. In addition, he spent three years at Metova Inc. serving as it’s President of Product and Services, Chief Operations Officer, and Executive Vice President of Business Development. Cazes served as the previous Vice President of Cyber Innovation Center (CIC) for nine years, making him a great expert to speak to the future cyber generation.
Prior to the event, attendees will be able to visit vendor booths from higher education institutions like Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State University, LSU Shreveport and Bossier Parish Community College, as well as National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC), General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), Starbase 2.0, and EAP/NorLeap. These participants will showcase the type of cyber technology and programming that each institution/entity offers.
At the luncheon, scholarships will be awarded by the Bossier Innovates Foundation to Bossier and Caddo senior students who have expressed an interest in a cyber-related field of study. Scholarship sponsors include GDIT, Magee Re-source Group and Bossier Parish Community College. Other high school students will be invited to learn more about what cyber opportunities are in our region.
This luncheon is one of many events during Innovation North LA, which will be held from Nov. 11-22. Come learn more about the innovators in our region!
Individual tickets for the luncheon are $35. They are available online at bossierchamber.com/shop or by phone at (318) 746-0252.
