50 Louisiana lawmakers achieve perfect voting records on small business issues

BATON ROUGE — NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, has revealed that 12 state senators and 38 representatives who served in 2018-19 achieved a 100 percent NFIB Voting Record.

“Our members are grateful to these lawmakers for their strong, consistent support of Louisiana’s small businesses,” said Dawn Starns, NFIB’s state director for Louisiana. “Their records show that they really understand the challenges our members face daily.”

Starns said the NFIB Voting Record does not reflect every element considered by a lawmaker when voting, nor does it represent a complete profile of a legislator. Still, the NFIB Voting Record for 2018-19 captures the key issues impacting small business in Louisiana during that period including tax relief, legal reform, and employee mandates.

“We are lucky to have so many legislators who understand the ramifications of their votes on key issues,” Starns said. “An up or down vote can directly and swiftly impact a small business owner’s ability to grow and thrive. As evidenced by the recent jobs numbers in Louisiana showing a loss, we thought it was important to recognize these legislators who go above and beyond to protect small business.”
