Louisiana Governor, Shreveport Mayor to speak at EAP’s fifth anniversary celebration

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards and Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins will speak at a celebration to mark the fifth anniversary of BRF’s Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP). The event will be held on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 at InterTech 1, located at 2031 Kings Highway in Shreveport. It will begin at 3:40 p.m.

The event will honor the latest group of EAP portfolio companies, which will join 34 already-recognized companies. Previously celebrated EAP portfolio companies operate in industries ranging from healthcare to technology to media and entertainment.

Since its inception, EAP has vetted 859 ideas and provided services, including market analysis, business plan development, and financial analysis and modeling, to 260 startups. More than 70 ideas have been funded through angel investors, grants or banks, bringing an estimated investment of $74 million to the area. Also, EAP portfolio companies have created 213 jobs with a total annual payroll of $11.7 million.

EAP is an initiative of BRF to diversify the region’s economy, create jobs and expand the area’s tax base by providing services to innovative startups. EAP provides a suite of services to build sustainable and profitable companies in North Louisiana while stimulating economic development and enhancing the region’s innovation entrepreneurial ecosystem.
