Nathan inducted as president of the American Head and Neck Society

Cherie-Ann Nathan, MD, FACS, Professor and Chairman of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at LSU Health Shreveport, and Director of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center, was recently inducted as the President of the American Head and Neck Society (AHNS) at the Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings held in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Nathan was nominated by AHNS leadership and is only the second woman President of the American Head and Neck Society. She will serve a one-year term. The AHNS is the leading organization for head and neck cancer in the United States. The mission of the AHNS is to advance education, research, and quality of care for the head and neck oncology patient.

Dr. Nathan was also nominated as President Elect of the Association of Academic Departments of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery (AADO – HNS), which consists of all Otolaryngology/HNS Residency Program Chairs in the country and promotes the common interests of otolaryngology departments through publications, research, and discussions of mutual interest and concern.
