Levingston named honoree for Small Business Owner of the Year

Kathy Levingston, Client Service Coordinator with Cardinaux Wealth Advisors, a Private Wealth Advisory Practice of Ameriprise Financial in Shreveport, has been selected as an honoree for Small Business Owner of the Year by the Business Development Connection of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce.

The Business Development Connection (BDC) is an organization that promotes building business and empowering change in the Shreveport community. Each year, the BDC recognizes outstanding minority individuals or businesses who are making a difference in the community at the Annual Minority Business Opportunity Awards Dinner. This year the organization will recognize outstanding Chamber members in the following award categories: Top Business Professional of the Year, Emerging Business of the Year, Small Business Owner of the Year, Business of the Year, Non-Profit Citizen of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement.

Honorees for the Small Business Owner of the Year award are minority individuals who own, operate, and bear the principal responsibility for operating a small business (less than 50 employees). In addition to her career with Cardinaux Wealth Advisors, Levingston manages and owns a small business by the name of Bea Destined Designs, LLC. Levingston’s business is founded on creating unique, hand crafted designs for people to enjoy. Levingston creates custom jewelry, homemade soaps, hand poured candles made from all-natural ingredients, and hand sanitizers.

Beyond her achievements in business, Levingston has also had several other notorious accomplishments. She recently co-authored a book, “Win from the Beginning”, where she discusses how to overcome past, present, and future obstacles. She was a guest speaker on the local show, “Louisiana Sisterhood Book Club”. Levingston also serves as the Executive Board Secretary for non-profit organization, NORLA (North Louisiana Preservation Project). Committing much of her time to service, Levingston has a desire to use her business as a way to make meaningful impacts to organizations in the Shreveport area. Levingston says faith is the foundation for her business and she lives by the motto “faith first, family second, career third”. With that strategy, Levingston has created an avenue to live out her passions while keeping what’s most important to her, in focus.
