Shreveport receives transportation grant for aiding healthcare providers and transit agencies

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation announced the city of Shreveport will receive $54,472 to develop a mobile application and web portal in order to increase system efficiency and scheduling between health care providers and transit agencies.

The City of Shreveport will receive funding to develop a mobile application and web portal to increase system efficiency and scheduling, providing additional options for planning and managing paratransit trips.

This project was selected on a competitive basis thru the Access and Mobility Partnership Grants Program. Funds will support better coordination among health care providers and transit agencies as well as technology improvements such as mobility-on-demand shared transportation services and smart phone apps for booking services.
