The Greater Shreveport, Bossier, Monroe, West Monroe, Ruston/Lincoln and Shreveport-Bossier African American Chambers of Commerce along with the North Louisiana Economic Partnership will join together May 7 to showcase North Louisiana to legislators in Baton Rouge for Northern Exposure 2019.

Northern Exposure, the state’s largest annual, citizen-lobbying caravan, has been rolling into the Capital for more than 30 years. The event ensures that the needs of the people of the top of Louisiana remain top of mind for both lawmakers and the Governor.

This high-visibility event amplifies the collective voice of the region and allows the NWLA legislative delegation to hear directly from constituents and business leaders. It also allows interested citizens the chance to hear firsthand from the Governor, members of the Administration and NWLA Legislators about how their priorities impact North Louisiana. The size of the caravan demonstrates that the business community of North Louisiana is organized and engaged in the issues that affect our communities.

The event includes speeches from the governor and cabinet secretaries, remarks from legislators and culminates with a reception featuring signature dishes from local restaurants and chefs. This year will also feature networking opportunities for the Leadership classes from Shreveport, Ruston/Lincoln and Monroe, further cementing the collaboration across the I-20 corridor.
