BATON ROUGE – The initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending Mar 30, 2019 rose to 1,666 from the previous week’s total of 1,619. For a comparison, during the week ending Mar 31, 2018, 1,648 initial claims were filed.
The four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 1,633 from the previous week’s average of 1,635.
The unemployment insurance continued claims for the week ending Mar 30, 2019 increased to 14,283 from the previous week’s total of 14,074. The continued claims were below the comparable figure of 16,067 for the week ending Mar 31, 2018.
The four-week moving average of continued claims decreased to 14,298 from the previous week’s average of 14,611.
