Northwest Louisiana Technical College (NWLTC) will celebrate Community College Week with an Open House on each of the three NWLTC campuses.
The Open House theme, Open Your Dream Pathway, will feature a panel of employers and industry representatives with AcQueena Grant, the Director of Communications and Outreach for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, facilitating.
The NWLTC Open Your Dream Pathway panels will provide answers to questions surrounding key areas: how to secure your dream job; how to keep your dream job; and how to manage life with your dream job. Discussions will include practical steps to getting hired, soft skills and work readiness behaviors that employers expect, financial literacy discussions to assist in managing debt and women seeking employment in industry.
In addition to information regarding short-term workforce training and credit program opportunities, faculty from WorkReadyU, NWLTC’s Adult Education Program, will be on-hand to help those who may need assistance with completing their high school diploma. It may surprise some to know that NWLTC has a pathway to a high school diploma that does not require taking the HiSet Test and prepares a student for employment at the same time.
