The CHRISTUS Breast Center has again been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. The Center is the only breast center in the region to have earned this accreditation.
“This accreditation is a stamp of approval for excellent patient care,” said Isaac Palmer, CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System CEO. “We are proud to provide comprehensive breast care to this region, and we strive to make our patients’ experience the best it can be. Our center was designed by women for women, and patients experience a relaxing, caring atmosphere that offers a soothing environment to east the anxiety associated with breast care.”
Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation and performance review processes. A breast center that achieves NAPBC accreditation has demonstrated a firm commitment to offer its patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease.
CHRISTUS Breast Center is conveniently located at the corner of East Bert Kouns and Millicent Way and provides women with expert mammography and ultrasound technologists. A Certified Nurse Navigator is a part of the team and helps connect patients with medical, community and support resources. She also helps patients understand their treatment options, assists with setting up appointments, and provides patients with compassionate, ongoing support from diagnosis through treatment.
Receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center ensures a patient will have access to:
- Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art services
- A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
- Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options
- Quality breast care close to home
