LSU Health Shreveport Department of Neurosurgery’s Dr. Bharat Guthikonda was conferred as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) on Oct. 21 at the international Clinical Congress meeting held in Boston.
Dr. Guthikonda is a Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of Skull Base Research at LSU Health Shreveport. Guthikonda currently serves on the LSU Health Shreveport Admissions Committee, and serves as a Senior Medical Student Mentor and third year Student Promotions Committee Member. He also has many statewide and national leadership appointments including serving as an AANS Neurosurgery Resident Mentor, member of the AANS Communications and PR Committee, and a past member of the Joint Washington Committee with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS).
Guthikonda is the Chair of the Medical-Legal Committee of the Council of State Neurological Societies (CSNS) and the current President of the Louisiana Association of Neurosurgeons (LANS). He also serves on the Awards Committee of the North American Skull Base Society (NASBS) and has served as a faculty member for the NASBS pre-meeting and summer resident courses.
