BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Workforce Commission’s (LWC) Registered Apprenticeship division has launched a new website, Apprenticeshipla.com.
The website is interactive and offers quick access to division operations, policies and regulations and offers direct contact information for the Registered Apprenticeship Staff and State Apprenticeship Council members.
New features for users include the Eligible Training Providers List (ETPL) and a complete list of program sponsors. Staff members will update website content continuously with helpful information and interactive tools.
Joseph Hollins, State Director of Registered Apprenticeship, said the site was created for simplification purposes.
“Ultimately, our goal is to streamline the process of obtaining information about apprenticeship in Louisiana, both for job seekers and employers,” Hollins said. “Our presence on the LWC’s website signifies our affiliation with Louisiana labor department, and maintaining our own site will speed up the processes of sharing and seeking information. I believe that visitors will find the site both informative and easy to follow.”
LWC Secretary Ava Dejoie touted the website as an effective tool for both job seekers and employers.
“Our Registered Apprenticeship program is workforce development at its finest,” Dejoie said. “The LWC’s mission is to put Louisianans to work, and the Apprenticeship website will serve as one more tool that contributes to that goal.”
