Ayers Career College names Ferguson new campus president

Ayers Career College announced that Torris Ferguson has been named the new Campus President of Ayers Career College. Ferguson, a native of North Carolina, will bring an enormous amount of experience and expertise that will benefit the students of Ayers.

“Our number one priority is to provide our students the knowledge and skills required to immediately enter into a career in the fastest growing industries,” said Bruce Busada, chairman, Ayers Career College. “When looking at candidates from across the country, Torris stood out because of his record of successful student outcomes and expertise, especially in the in-demand information technology industry. We are excited for what this means for our students.

Prior to joining Ayers, Ferguson served as Assistant Campus Director of the Dallas, Texas campus of computer training and IT certification school MyComputerCareer. He was quickly promoted to Campus Director of MyComputerCareer’s Charlotte, North Carolina Campus. Prior to entering career education, Ferguson worked for the Capital Area Workforce Development Board in Raleigh, where he saw firsthand the type of educational training necessary for successful careers.

Ferguson believes the key to education is good educators focused on engaging their students.

“One of my favorite quotes regarding my passion for higher education is an old Chinese Proverb – ‘Tell me, I’ll forget; show me, I’ll remember, involve me, I understand,’” explained Ferguson.

Ferguson received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College, a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and is currently a candidate to receive a PHD in Higher Education Leadership. Ferguson is married to Torria Ferguson, who is a K-12 educator, and together they have five children. Their oldest son serves in the United States Air Force and recently graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base.
