Historian joins GDC as advisor for Cross Bayou project

Renowned Historian, Dr. Gary Dillard Joiner, has joined Gateway Development Consortium’s (GDC) as an advisor on its billion-dollar Cross Bayou Point development.

Dr. Joiner is a leading expert on Louisiana’s history and archaeology and the author of numerous books including History Matters, which was a compilation from his widely popular radio program.  The chair of Louisiana State University, Shreveport’s Department of History & Social Sciences, he is the former national advisory board member of the Civil War Preservation Trust and served as a board member on the Louisiana Historical Association.

“I’m delighted GDC sought my expertise on this complex, groundbreaking project,” said Dr. Joiner.

“Dr. Joiner will work closely with our development team to ensure the project moves forward with the required sensitivity for the unique history of Cross Bayou,” said Daron West, GDC partner.
