Remington College Shreveport Campus now offers a new Paralegal Associate Degree Program.
The Paralegal Associate Degree Program provides training in legal research and writing, civil litigation and trial preparation, business and contracts law, bankruptcy law, family and probate law, real estate law, and legal liability and ethics.
The degree program typically takes 18 months for full-time students to complete. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded an Associate of Science Degree in Paralegal.
Students will be prepared for a number of entry-level positions in law firms, corporations and governmental agencies.
The curriculum covers:
- Introduction to Paralegal Studies
- Legal Liability and Ethics
- Legal Writing
- Legal Research
- Bankruptcy Law
- Real Estate Law
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for paralegals and legal assistants is expected to grow 15 percent between 2016 and 2026, which is much faster than the average for all occupations.
