LSBDC to host workshop on buying and selling small businesse for entrepreneurs


In an effort to help new and existing small businesses in Northwest and Central Louisiana, the Louisiana Small Business Development Center has partnered with Regions Bank and Bossier Parish Community College on an incredible workshop to help entrepreneurs in the region.

“The LSBDC-NWCR is always eager to help small communities stimulate jobs and start businesses,” Dana Cawthon, Regional Director of LSBDC -NWCR said. “There are a lot of great gems that come from small community businesses.”

This “Buying and Selling Small Businesses” workshop is for business owners and others who desire to learn about acquiring or selling a business. It also has valuable information to help accountants, attorneys, business brokers, financial planners, CEOs, and CFOs help their clients with buying or selling a small business. This seminar will be held on June 14 from 1–3 p.m. at the Bossier Parish Community College, Building D, Room 227 (6220 E. Texas St. Bossier City). A $35 payment is required at the time of registration (Checks preferred, no cards.)


Speakers include Dana Cawthon, Regional Director of Northwest & Central Region – LSBDC and Nancy Knighten, Assistant Vice President – SBA Specialist at Regions Bank.

The LSBDC is Louisiana’s largest and most accessible source of assistance for entrepreneurs and the only statewide nationally accredited program that provides business consulting to entrepreneurs at no cost. Designated as the state’s principal provider of small business assistance by Louisiana Economic Development, the LSBDC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Association, Louisiana Economic Development and participating universities. The LSBDC Northwest Central Region serves 14 parishes including Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Grant, Avoyelles, Natchitoches, Rapides, Red River, Sabine, Vernon, Webster and Winn.
