CHRISTUS expands primary care services in Shreveport

Residents of Shreveport and the surrounding area have a new option for award-winning primary care treatment with the recently opened CHRISTUS Primary Care – Shreveport clinic and its distinguished physicians.

Now open at 9091 Ellerbe Rd. Ste. 200 in Shreveport, the clinic is accepting new patients for Kevin Murphy, M.D.; Theresa Rinderle, M.D.; and John G. Underwood, M.D.

“We are very lucky to have these three physicians, all of whom have incredible clinical training, extensive experience and who have been repeatedly recognized for their high-quality care,” said Lisa Britt, VP of Physician Practice Operations. “Additionally, these physicians are very familiar with this area and have served the people of this community for many years with faith and dedication.”

Dr. Kevin Murphy

Dr. Kevin Murphy provides comprehensive Family Medicine health care with an emphasis on patient education and involvement. He has practiced in the Shreveport Bossier area his entire career and is a trusted medical resource in the community.

“I’m an advisor,” said Dr. Murphy. “I believe the patient is the ultimate decision maker, and I am here to help them make the best decision for their health and well-being.”
Dr. Murphy is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and has received the Gerald R. Gehringer Award in Family Medicine, which is awarded to only one physician in Louisiana each year. He has also been awarded the degree of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Theresa Remberle

Dr. Theresa Rinderle is a Family Medicine provider who places an emphasis on patient education and involvement. Dr. Rinderle has also practiced in the Shreveport-Bossier area her entire career and has treated generations of families in the community.

“I serve as an advisor to the patient – based on their history, physical exam and diagnosis,” said Dr. Rinderle. “I encourage patient involvement in all aspects of decision making regarding their treatment.”

A native of New Orleans, Dr. Rinderle has also received the Gerald R. Gehringer Award in Family Medicine. She also has been honored as a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Underwood

A native of Louisiana, Dr. Underwood has been serving patients in Shreveport since finishing his residency at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Underwood brings nearly four decades of experience and evidence-based medicine to the clinical environment. His philosophy is to provide the very best compassionate and comprehensive care to each and every patient.
