Barksdale Federal will hold its 11th annual free community shred and safety day on Saturday, April 21.
Members and non-members of the credit union are able to stop by Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Ave., Shreveport between 9 a.m. and noon to participate and shred up to two trash bags of personal information.
Last year over 9 tons of personal information was destroyed at the event.
Everyone at this free event is invited to play carnival games and miniature golf, win prizes, participate in fire and weather simulators. Barksdale Federal will supply pastries and coffee for breakfast and barbecue sandwiches, chips, and cookies for lunch.
Barksdale Federal Credit Union covers the cost of Shred-It’s mobile shredding truck to arrive at Sheriff’s Safety Town and destroy the participants’ personal documents. Each person will be able to watch their private information run through the shredder and be destroyed.
