BATON ROUGE – Kean Miller announced the recent addition of Carolee Swallie as Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer (CMBDO).
Carolee has more than two decades’ experience working with law firms, helping them to drive growth through a focus on clients.
Carolee takes the reins as CMBDO from Steve Boutwell who became the firm’s Chief Operating Officer in 2017. In welcoming Carolee to the firm, Steve commented: “Kean Miller is succeeding in a highly competitive legal market, and our success is based on a deep knowledge of our clients’ business and industry sectors, an intense dedication to client service, and continuous improvement of our firm’s internal and external efforts. As CMBDO, Carolee is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the Firm’s business development and marketing initiatives. She and her team will collaborate with Kean Miller attorneys and professional staff to maintain and improve client-driven efforts, increase market awareness, and facilitate the development of growth. She will also set direction for practice group driven efforts, media relations, client feedback initiatives, brand management, advertising and PR, online marketing and social media, and research and competitive intelligence. She is responsible for the firm’s efforts in five markets, including Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Shreveport, Lake Charles, and Houston.

Carolee has previously held leadership positions at national and regional law firms including Dorsey & Whitney, Kirkland & Ellis, Brinks Gilson & Lione, and most recently Poyner Spruill. She is frequent speaker at legal marketing industry conferences and forums. She holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Mass Communication and Journalism from Utah State University.
