A group of subcontractors say they haven’t been paid for their work on the Shreveport Aquarium.

According to liens filed with the Caddo Parish Clerk of Court against aquarium operators Planet Aqua Group/Shreveport Aquarium and Wieland-Davco, the project’s general contractor.

Those who have not been paid are: Rimmer Electric, Inc. ($91,232.91); The Payne Company ($67,213.50);The Blocker Co., Inc. ($58,483.60); 2R Construction ($18,220); Mid South Fire Solutions, LLC ($11,717.59); PPT, Inc.($10,233.00); and Cemrock Landscapes ($4,710).
The City of Shreveport gave the aquarium a lease of the former Barnwell Center for $1 a year and dedicated $1.5 million in bonds for renovations.
City officials say aquarium operators are fulfilling all lease obligations.
The aquarium was announced in September 2016 with a provisional opening date of Sept. 1, 2017. That date was pushed back several times before officially opening Nov. 1 with high attendance numbers.
