The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, entering its 109th year, will be hosting its annual banquet Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino’s ballroom at 6:30.
The banquet will feature a passing of the gavel from the 2018 board chairman to the 2019 chairman, as well as an ACT WorkKeys Champion presentation, recognition of companies celebrating chamber membership milestones of 25 years or more, the awarding of the business leader of the year to John B. Beaird and a special surprise announcement.
“The Chamber board and staff delivered on a number of big initiatives in 2018, and we’re excited to celebrate that with the community, while laying out our plan for 2019,” said Dr. Timothy J. Magner, president of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. “I’m also more than pleased that we’ll be recognizing John B. Beaird as our Business Leader of the Year. John’s business acumen and philanthropic works are both worthy of admiration and celebration.”
