KSM ‘s Cindy Smith receives MBOA small business owner of the year

Cindy Smith, owner of Kalmbach Smith Meadows, recently was honored by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce with the Minority Business Opportunity Award for Small Business Owner of the Year.

Cindy purchased the business in 2002 with a partner and has been the sole owner of Kalmbach Smith Meadows since 2010. She has found a formula for success that starts with determination and a strong network of mentors, partnering vendors, staff who are believers in the mission, and clients who equivocally partner in the strategies and goals.

Building on a 33-year history of relationships and rewards in the industry, Kalmbach Smith Meadows is best known for its boundless creativity, diligent and transparent budget management and client centric service. The firm dedicates time and talents to an active local, regional and national base of accounts that are small businesses and corporate establishments. Cindy and her team have proudly partnered with many of their clients for 15-20 years. She believes this a testament to building strong relationships, keeping the lines of communication open and truly partnering in the day-to-day operations. Cindy and her team also recently developed a giving back program titled “Due Your Business”, where quarterly donations are made to select organizations and/or causes in the community in an effort for team members to be a part of doing good and giving back.

In the state of Louisiana, there are 424,475 small businesses according to the Small Business Association. KSM believes that one must continue to grow and evolve to maintain a positive revenue and economic impact. The plans for growth over the next three-to-five years for the firm include continuing development in digital marketing and analytics specialties. The nature of marketing and advertising continues to evolve, and it is essential for companies to stay abreast of the moving targets in these platforms.
